Contrast Lighting, from "Light Like A Pro" DVD

"I am impressed with Jerry Day's ability to pack so much useful information into a twenty minute package. His direct, no-nonsense style leads the neophyte movie maker on a fascinating journey on the nature of light and how to control it to bring out the most emotional value in any scene. He has effectively demystified the process of lighting and by so doing empowers the viewer to explore their own creativity while being cognizant of the subliminal visceral power of light and shadow."

Jerry Day

Jerry Day studied film and television production at Pasadena City College and USC. Jerry was recruited mid-college by advertising photographers in Hollywood to design and build sets and create scenic graphics and backdrops.

While working as a scenic contractor Jerry took a scattering of jobs as an actor in films, TV and commercials. The experience with the nation's top commercial photographers led Jerry to the opportunity to teach a production and scenery-related classe at Art Center College of design.

After 12 years of scenic and production work Jerry started contracting video production jobs which shortly became his primary career. Jerry has produced, videotaped and edited hundreds of video programs including television shows, commercials, documentaries, public service announcements, news releases, corporate marketing programs and landed in the top 40 on Ifilm with an off-the-wall comedy clip. His projects have included major celebrities and political figures.

In 2003 Jerry won an L.A. Area Emmy for a four half-hour KDOC television series on L.A. arts and culture called "Street Music Los Angeles". In 2006 he won two Telly awards for "Light Like A Pro", an educational program on media lighting for entry-level lighting technicians and camera operators.
